Detail Itinerary

On the first day of your Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek, you will land at the international airport in Kathmandu. As you arrive, one of our reps will be waiting for you at the terminal to welcome you and drop you off at your designated hotel.

As you arrive at the terminal, an airport official will take you to work out your tourist visa application. Nepal has a visa-on-arrival procedure for foreigners which makes it easy for you to get your visa.

Based on the duration of your stay, you are required to pay a certain amount of fee as visa fees. This is your personal expense and it will not be covered by our Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek pacakge.

On the 2nd day, you will meet all the crew members, including the porters and guide who will be traveling with you for the entire trek. Our guide will be responsible for keeping you on track while our porter will make sure that you do not have to carry your heavy luggage.

Following breakfast, you will enjoy a full-day exploration of a number of sites including the Pashupatinath Temple, a historic site tied to Lord Shiva and well-known for its traditional burial practices on the riverbank of Bagmati, and the largest stupa in the nation of Nepal, Boudhanath Stupa, a pilgrimage site for both Buddhists and non-Buddhists.

Our guide will also take you to Durbar Square, a historical landmark that encompasses the royal residences and pavilions of the former Shah and Malla Kings, dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries. Additionally, we will pay a visit to Swoyambhunath Stupa, a stupa-style structure atop a hill that provides a stunning view of the entire Kathmandu valley.

We will also let you choose from a bunch of attractions that you would like to visit.

Although Pokhara and Kathmandu are just 204 kilometers away, the topography and road conditions in Nepal make the trip a lengthy one. With Kathmandu having been the most visited city, Pokhara is the next most preferred city in Nepal. Renowned as the gateway to the Annapurna Circuit, it provides guests with a breathtaking setting on Phewa Lake with stunning vistas.

It will take about 6 to 7 hours to reach Kathmandu from Pokhara via tourist bus but if you take a flight instead it will only take 25 minutes. You can take a flight is you want to spend more time in Pokhara and also avoid 6 hours of road trip. However, the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek will not cover any of your flight expenses.

The first part of the Poon hill walk is rather easy—the distance from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga. Traveling from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga via Birethanti, Lamdawali, Sudame, and Hile takes around 4 to 5 hours. Nayapul is a little settlement along the Pokhara-Baglung route and a river.

Stepping out of Nayapul, you are met with a beautiful vista of Machhapuchhre, also called a fishtail. Along the walk, travelers are greeted with charming tea shops and lively tiny communities. The tranquil splendor of the hills and falls will be seen as you go.

This is a popular hiking path that connects to several other trails in the Annapurna region, including the Khopra Danda Trek, the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, the Annapurna Circuit Trek, and many more.

The village of Birethanti is home to both the TIMS checkpost and the permit checkpost for the Annapurna conservation area. The guide will assist you in registering your information at the checkpost and then we will proceed to Tikhedhunga, Nepal.

The Poon hill climb includes the Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani hike, which offers breathtaking views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. The distance from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani is almost 13 kilometers. Traveling to Ghorepani via Ulleri, Banthanti, and Nangge Thanti takes six to seven hours.

Ghorepani is a beautiful village located at a height of 2860 meters. You will adore the expansive vista of the magnificent summits of the mountains while on the Ghorepani Trek. You may really get a nice glimpse of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountains from lower elevations.

The last place you need to reach before arriving in Ghorepani is Nangge Thanti. At 2430 meters, or 7972 feet, above sea level, Nangge Thanti is a serene location. When you are trekking from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani, the crimson splendor against the background of the snow-capped mountains is truly a sight that will stop you from growing tired. Because of the walk's ease and low height, altitude sickness is not a concern.

We will roll out of our comfortable mattresses at 5 am, get dressed, and make the 45-minute ascent to the summit of Poon Hill in time for dawn.

It will be quite magnificent to see the Annapurna range in the clear early light! Everything about the Ghorepani Poon Hill climb is centered around that vista, and reaching it is worth each effort.

We're going to trek back down to the lodge for breakfast. Before starting the day's major trip, we will fill up all of our water containers with drinking water, which is more than twice as expensive at the top.

One well-known settlement in the Annapurna area is Tadapani. The Khopra Trek crosses through this settlement.

We will start our trek through the Rhododendron forests as we walk the slopes and descend to the Kimron Khola. We drop at the settlement of Jhinu Danda after hiking up the route to the Chomrong settlement.

There is a naturally occurring hot spring close to the village where visitors may unwind. We're running out of time, so we'll go on along the dirt path by Modi Khola. The portion is quite thrilling to walk since it provides an amazing perspective of undulating hills, interesting communities, and steep-sided lowlands.

Ultimately, following one more ascent, we will reach the stunning Ghandruk Village. We start our descent in the wee hours of the morning on the last day of the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek. We descend through a series of stone stairs that are situated on the Ghandruk village entryway. We descend for two hours and arrive at Syauli Bazar.

The ascent via the village of Nayapul takes around four to five hours. Since there isn't any more hiking, we can merely gaze out the window and take in the breathtaking view of snow-covered peaks and rocky hills. There are beautiful vistas throughout the hour-long trip from Nayapul to Pokhara.

We'll take you directly to your accommodation in Pokhara so you can rest after arriving. Take a stroll around Rara Lake's shoreline, or try your hand at some adventurous sports like parachuting, paddle boating, and more, unless you're not up for it.

The next morning, you will be served a delicious plate of morning meal before making your way back to Kathmandu. Leaving the calming and scenic city of Pokhara, we will get on the bus and reach Kathmandu in about 6 to 7 hours.

On the way to Kathmandu from Pokhara, you can enjoy some scenic views as we will be traveling alongside rivers and hills all the way. If you do not wish to travel 6 to 7 hours on a bus, you can opt for a flight instead.

However, we will not be covering your flight expenses. This Ghorepani Poon Hill trek only covers land transportation as per the costing.If you prefer to taje a domestic flight back to Kathmandu which would take about 25 min, you can choose this option at your own cost.
