Khayer Lake Trek Content

Trip Overview

Khayer Lake(Also called as Khopra ridge Trek) is a pure mountainous lake in the Annapurna hiking locale. It is frequently visited year-round by Hindu and Buddhist believers as one of the holy water bodies where they take a dip in the holy water while making a request. Khayer Lake is located at a height of approximately 4,620 meters (15,394 feet) above sea level.

When bathing in the icy water that flows immediately from the magnificent mountains of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, which appear captivating from the shores of the lake in which the local individuals of Magar and Gurung contend that the deity lives, community members here demonstrate an intense faith in receiving a desire on the blessed day of Janai Purnima.

In addition to providing you with an amazing experience, the trip directly improves the lives of the mountain villages as you travel through Nepal’s breathtaking Himalayan region. Most of the settlements along this path are having financial difficulties and aren’t drawing in the anticipated number of tourists. Alternatively, this new route was developed to improve the settlements along the trail’s financial standing.

With its pristine old culture, art forms, and customs laid in the cradle of the heavens, soaring peaks, as well as Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, and Annapurna, the distant, recently promoted, gorgeous hiking path of the Khayer Lake region is fascinating.

You will experience the friendliest welcoming of the Gurung and Magar people throughout your hike to this breathtakingly serene lake. These people are native to the Himalayas and are accustomed to passing down their heritage, faith, and traditional customs from one generation to the next. They also take great pride in maintaining the fragile mountain ecological systems for future generations to enjoy.

The Khayer Lake Trek is a highly recommended trekking path in Annapurna due to its relatively lesser popularity among hikers. Because of the recently created track, it is also regarded as one of the greatest off-trail treks in the Annapurna, providing the ideal trekking experience for hikers who wish to avoid large crowds.

Beginning at Ghandruk, the walk ascends to Shristibung, Khopra Danda, and Dobato, before reaching the Tadapani. Because the track passes via an alpine woodland and offers views of the vast Annapurna range, it is a really enjoyable trek.

Detail Itinerary

Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal and offers a lot of activities. As you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport, one of our representatives will be there to pick you up. He will welcome you and drop you off at your designated accommodation.

Before you actually leave the terminal, you are required to get your tourist visa approved. The government of Nepal has enabled visa-on-arrival for most international tourists which makes it easy for you as you do not have to apply any forms online and wait for the visa to get approved.

As they set you up with your tourist visa, they will charge you a certain amount of fees as visa fees based on the duration of your stay in Nepal. This expense will not be covered by this Khayer Lake trek package.

The majority of the Kathmandu City Tour is spent touring Patan and the adjacent valley, which happens to be home to several important tourist attractions. In fact, a few of them are now recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Our Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour includes visits to World Heritage Sites such as Swayambhunath Stupa, Patan Durbar Square, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath Stupa, and Pashupatinath Temple. Kathmandu is an important location for anyone who wants to satiate their desire to learn about historical and cultural sites.

Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, is encircled by verdant hills and is rich in the cultural heritage and architecture of the two neighboring towns: Lalitpur, and Bhaktpur. These three locations were historically and now neighboring countries.

The "newars," who live in Kathmandu, conduct tens or perhaps hundreds of rites and festivals a year. If you are just on time, you will be able to enjoy a couple of their long-lasting traditional festival rituals on the streets of Kathmandu.

Pokhara is arguably the most beautiful city in Nepal and is the tourist capital as well. You will travel to Pokhara by tourist bus. The reason for choosing tourist buses is that they are comfortable, spacious, and premium, compared to standard buses in Nepal. It will take you around 6 to 7 hours to reach the city of Pokhara.

If you would like to spend more time in Pokhara, you can take a flight instead which will fly you to Pokhara in just 25 minutes. The distance from Kathmandu to Pokhara is just 200 km but since the roadways are windy and filled with pot holes, it take quiet sometime to reach Pokhara.

You can travel by air to save some time. However, this Khayer Lake trek package will not cover any flight expenses, it will be your personal expense.

Breakfast

Hotel

Following the morning meal, we will travel to Kimchi, a little rural town, from where your hike will start. Ghandruk is reached via a relatively short hike on a good-conditioned route that takes approximately two hours, subject to your speed and involves climbing a set of stone stairs.

Ghandruk is among the most well-known Gurung settlement, it has been preserving its own culture and traditions for a very long time.

We will proceed to the guest house and have a little something shortly after we arrive. After a short period of rest, you'll be more energetic and ready to tour the village and mingle with the residents. You are free to explore the Gurung Museum and the Buddhist monastery located at the town's border to discover the history of this ethnic group.

You may take a morning stroll through the hamlet and get a glimpse of the Gurung community's way of life. Observing the surrounding mountains is an essential component you should not miss out on.

We are going to have a leisurely hiking day, so we can start our trek to Tadapani, the next stop, either following lunch or shortly after the morning meal. Hiking across Rhododendron forest will take three hours, and we will arrive at Tadapani (2,630 meters).

The soothing sound of cascading waterfalls and singing birds will never tire you with the beauty of the wilderness. There is a large buffalo meadow where you may pause and have a few dairy goodies, but there isn't a specific hamlet along the path.

Tadapani is a great location to see expansive views of surrounding peaks, including Lamjung Himal (6931 m), Annapurna II (7937 m), Annapurna III (7555 m), and Annapurna IV (7525 m). Additionally, it's a great location to view sunrise and sunsets.

The trail primarily winds through woods of bamboo and Rhododendron, alternating with short stretches of alpine grassland and clumps of meadow. There are some excellent viewpoints throughout the route, and the weather may shift from dense fog to brilliant clear skies and breathtaking views within ten minutes. Even if you walk alone, there is no chance of getting lost because the path is well-designated with a white and blue line. The trail climbs and descends from Tadapani till it reaches an abandoned cottage.

Trekking upward for thirty minutes to Muldai View Point in the wee hours of the morning to see the sunrise will be a memorable and beautiful experience. After returning to our Dobato guest house for a morning meal, we are about to go on yet another amazing excursion.

The route will soon be through rhododendron forests once more, with an uphill and a downward section. An hour of walking will get you to Bayli Kharka, a lovely grassland with close-up views of the Dhaulagiri mountain.

You are going to begin to experience a true rural Nepal starting today. From Bayli Kharka, it takes around an additional three hours to go to Chistibung. In Chistibung, you'll find a tiny community and modest lodgings that can provide you with a passably adequate place to stay.

Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner

The plan for today is to awaken before sunrise and go to Muldai Viewpoint to witness the majestic Himalayan dawn. For years thereafter, you are going to recall the sight of the brilliant sun emerging above the snowy peaks blanketed in snow. You will travel to Khopra Danda or Ridge after enjoying this breathtaking vista, visiting the lodge and eating breakfast.

This hike that follows is lovely even though it's tough; in the springtime, when the route is draped in Rhododendron and wild flowers, it seems like you've entered a magical mountain realm.

The path is remote, with the exception of a couple of cattle transport, so you will experience peace and harmony. We will arrive to Khopra Danda after a strenuous hike, and visit a teahouse run by the locals to relax.

We will begin our exploration trip of the breathtaking Khayer Lake after a leisurely breakfast. It is a significant location for Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims. You may explore more of the area and snap beautiful photos of the location.

The locals hold that bathing in the sacred lake will provide you Nirvana, and absolve you of any wrongdoing you have done throughout your mortal existence. You will be mesmerized by the serene waters of the immaculate lake. You will relax and slumber at a camp on the grounds of Khayer Lake.
