Everest Base Camp Trek

Trip Overview

A 15-day Everest Base Camp Trek is an adventurous journey to one of the most famous trekking destinations in the world. It is an unforgettable trip in the Khumbu Valley with an extraordinary climb to the Kalapatthar summit elevated at 5545 m above sea level.

The amazing journey to the Everest Base Camp will take us among the snowy giants of six, seven, and eight thousand meters. Such as Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu, and hundreds of minor peaks. They will accompany our journey throughout making our long day tiring walks easy and memorable.

We will travel the paths of Sagarmatha National Park that pass between ancient Buddhist monasteries and Sherpa villages of Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche. Here the intense religiosity of Tantric Buddhism and the Tibetan culture brought by the Sherpas reside in the hearts of the people.

Our itinerary of Everest Base Camp winds from Lukla which owes much of its fame to the morphology of the terrain. Every day, the path develops with gradual differences in level within dense rhododendron forests.

From the intimidating airport of Lukla, our trek begins which will take us, in about a week, to the most famous Base Camp in the world. The following day, we complete our adventure with a climb to the summit of Kalapatthar where we will have a panorama dominated by Lhotse, Everest, Pumori, Cho Oyu, and Nuptse.

We then begin our return trek through forests, monasteries, and villages rich in culture. We will take the initial route that allows us to relive the intimate and sporting experience that inspired us to get to know one of the most fascinating regions in the world.

Relive the journey that legendary Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hilary took when conquering Mount Everest in 1953.

So what are you waiting for? Book your Everest Base Camp trip with us now and get ready to live a unique experience!

Early in the morning, our tour guide will meet you at the hotel to take you to the airport for your flight to Lukla. Within 30 minutes of the scenic flight, you will arrive at Lukla one of the most famous and intimidating airports in the world. Here you will meet the rest of the team of porters and guide. Now get ready for your journey to Phakding.

This is our first day of the trek which is quite an easy climb down to Cheplung village first where the Kusum Kanguru peak (6,367m) appears from the east side of the valley. Then we will continue our walk to Ghat passing through lush green hills. From here, it is a short walk to Phakding where we will retire for the night.

Note:

In the spring and autumn seasons, due to the high air traffic load, all flights to Lukla will be redirected to Ramechhap Airport. In such case, we will drive to Ramechhap airport for 4 hours and catch a 20-minute flight to Lukla.

Today is our first acclimatization day in our Everest Base Camp trek. The shorter walks around will help us to acclimatize to the high altitude of more than 3000 m so we can complete our trek without much difficulty.

We will wake up early today to hike up to the Everest View Hotel at 3880 m elevation. We will enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee and some breakfast with the peripheral scenic view of the world's highest mountains Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and others.

We will then visit Khumjung village, where Mr. Edmund Hillary supported to building a school. Then we will explore the Shyangboche airport and return to Namche.

Leaving Namche, we resume our uphill journey towards Imja Khola. Crossing the bridge, we climb to Phungi Thenga where colorful prayer wheels and flags give us a glimpse of Tibetan culture.

From here on, our climb will be on a steep hill section with a lot of elevation gain, making it an area prone to altitude sickness, so we will walk gradually and and drink lots of water.

Along the route, appreciate the beautiful and famous peaks of the Khumbu region, such as Everest, Ama Dablam, and Lhotse. Soon, the Buddhist chants of the Tengboche monastery will enchant us. We will end the day at one of the village lodges and share friendship with our companions.

The climb to the Nangkartshang hill will be difficult due to altitude sickness, but this has a vaccination effect. It will make it easier to adapt to the altitude above 5,000 meters where you will stay for the next few days.

In the late afternoon, we will descend to our lodge in Dingboche and rest for the next day's trek.
